I recently partnered with the United Nations to develop training programs to raise awareness for community policing in Iraq. The project was a success as we developed nine multilingual modules (English and Arabic) tailored to the local communities needs.
One of the challenges was determining low-bandwidth solutions for learners in remote and underserved locations. I worked closely with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) team to overcome this. With their help, we were able to determine ideal file sizes to ensure the learning was accessible in areas with limited internet connection.
The training modules were well received by the local communities and were instrumental in raising awareness about community policing. The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, and many reported feeling more confident in their ability to work with the local police. Overall, the project was a huge success, and I am proud to have played a role in improving the relationship between the local communities and the police in Iraq.
