Description
As Wesco expanded access to Microsoft Copilot, employees needed more than access to the technology—they needed the confidence and practical skills to use it effectively. The organization required a consistent, company-wide learning experience that could move employees from basic awareness to meaningful AI fluency, including effective prompting and more advanced prompting strategies.
I designed and developed this mandatory eLearning experience around a relatable workday story. Learners follow Alex as he uses Wes, a custom AI assistant, to draft emails, summarize information, develop presentations, gather project insights, and improve his workflow. Wes guides learners through a bespoke simulated AI interface, making abstract AI concepts concrete, practical, and immediately relevant to everyday work.
As the end-to-end instructional designer, I shaped the learning strategy, story, interactions, visuals, and production workflow. I used Claude Code to create custom animated HTML sequences and the boutique Wes interface, then synchronized those animations with narration in Camtasia. Articulate Storyline powered the interactive elements, and AI-generated voiceover completed an AI-enabled production process that reduced development from months to weeks.
The course has been viewed by thousands of Wesco employees and has received strong learner feedback. It demonstrates how AI can support both the subject matter and the production process while still delivering a highly customized learning experience.
